NOUVADerm is a fractional laser for skin resurfacing, offered in the US by Aesthetic Management Partners. It uses a 1927 nm thulium wavelength that targets water in the top layers of the skin. The laser works in a grid, treating tiny columns of skin and leaving the skin around them untouched, which prompts the skin to renew itself. One device covers gentle to deeper settings, so the treatment is set for your skin rather than one level for everyone. Every visit at our Canoga Park med spa starts with a consultation.

We look at your skin, ask about your medical history and recent treatments, and talk through what you want to change. Whether NOUVADerm suits you, and at what setting, is decided here.
Your skin is cleansed and the treatment area is marked out. Eye protection goes on before the laser starts.
The handpiece moves across the area, placing a fine grid of treated points. The setting runs from gentle, non-ablative work to deeper, ablative resurfacing, as planned at your consultation.
Before you leave, we explain what your skin will do over the next days for the setting used, and how to care for it, sun protection included.
Treated skin renews over the weeks after a session, so change shows gradually rather than all at once. How many sessions you need, how far apart they are and how much downtime to plan for depend on your skin and the setting chosen, and your specialist sets these at your consultation. The maker lists wrinkles, scars, sun damage, sunspots, unwanted pigmentation, uneven tone, texture and pores. At your consultation we check which of your concerns it fits and whether another treatment on our menu would suit you better.
It depends on the setting. Gentler settings ask less of your skin, and deeper resurfacing asks more. Your specialist tells you what to expect for the setting planned for you before the treatment starts.
