What to expect

  1. Skin review

    We look at your tone, texture and fine lines and talk through the changes you are hoping for. Whether PRP suits you is confirmed here.

  2. Blood sample

    We draw a small vial of blood from your arm at the start of the appointment.

  3. Processing

    The sample goes into a centrifuge, which separates the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of your blood.

  4. Injections

    The PRP is injected in small amounts across the treatment areas with a fine needle. Topical numbing may be applied beforehand.

Questions about PRP Injections

  • How are PRP injections different from the PRP microneedling add-on?

    Both use platelet-rich plasma from your blood. With the Microneedling Add-Ons, PRP is applied during microneedling and enters the skin through the micro-channels the treatment opens. With PRP Injections, it is placed directly into the skin with a fine needle. We recommend the approach that fits your skin at your consultation.

  • Is there downtime after PRP injections?

    Redness, mild swelling and pinpoint marks on the treated skin are common for a day or two, and bruising is possible. The exact downtime varies, and we explain what to expect at your consultation. You can usually return to most daily activities soon after, following the aftercare instructions you receive.

  • How often is PRP repeated?

    PRP is commonly given as an initial series with several weeks between sessions, followed by occasional maintenance visits. The right number for you rests on the state of your skin and what you want to improve, and we decide it together at your consultation.

  • What pairs well with PRP injections?

    PRP Injections pair well with Microneedling or RF Microneedling for texture and firmness, and with Botox / Dysport when movement lines are also a concern. For the thin skin under the eyes, the PRF Under-Eye Treatment is designed for that area. We plan the order so your skin has time to recover between treatments.
