The filler appointment in order

We begin by studying your face, in profile and head on, relaxed and in motion, while you describe the change you have in mind. We tell you what filler can achieve for that goal and where its limits are. Next, we agree on the areas, the order and how much product to use. The skin is cleansed, and filler goes in gradually, a small amount at a time, with symmetry checked as we work. At the end, you sit up and look in the mirror with us. Aftercare is explained before you go.

Swelling and the days after

Expect some swelling. It is a normal response to filler and eases over the following several days, and lips tend to swell and bruise more than cheeks, chin or jawline. During that stretch the area can look fuller than its final shape, so judge the result once it has settled. Before you leave, we explain what to expect over those first days for the area you had treated. Follow the instructions you are given, and phone the spa if anything feels wrong. Lips tend to swell the most, which matters if photos are coming up.
