Swelling is the factor to plan around. Some is normal after filler and settles over the following days, and lips tend to react more than cheeks or chin. For a wedding, photos or a big occasion, book a couple of weeks ahead so the swelling has gone down and the final shape is on show. The consultation is the place to check that your date leaves enough room. Larger changes may be split across separate visits, so tell us your date early and the plan can work backward from it.

How the result changes after treatment

You can usually see a difference as soon as treatment ends, because filler adds shape where it is placed. For the next several days there is some swelling, so the area may look fuller than it will end up. As that settles, the final shape appears. After that, filler softens gradually over time. How long it lasts depends on the product used, the area treated and your own body, so no single figure applies to everyone. When you notice the shape softening, talk to your specialist about whether the plan should change.
